Who We Are
Men's Health Defense is an independent publisher that reviews supplement labels. We are not a manufacturer, distributor or retailer, and we do not sell anything. Our only commercial relationship with the products we cover is affiliate commission. This site is written for a United States audience and our practices are built around US privacy law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act.
What We Collect
- Server log data — IP address, browser type, referring page and time of request, recorded automatically by the web server for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing errors.
- Click-tracking data — our tracking service receives your IP address, user agent and referring page, and reports back whether a click on a commercial link resulted in a sale. This is how we know which articles actually help readers.
- Affiliate attribution — when you click a link to a merchant, the merchant or its retailer may set a cookie so the referral can be credited to us.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not ask for or store health information. We do not require an account and we do not run a mailing list. We do not collect payment details — every purchase happens on the seller's own website, not ours, and we never see your card. We do not run general web analytics: there is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no heatmap and no session recording on this site. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; this site is intended for adults.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and equivalent laws in other US states, we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined.
Third Parties
Some processing happens on services we do not own: our hosting provider, our click-tracking provider, and the affiliate networks and merchants whose links appear on our pages. Once you click through to a seller's website, you are on their property and their privacy policy applies, not ours. We encourage you to read it.
Cookies
We do not set any advertising or profiling cookie. The cookies you may pick up here are functional: an identifier used by our click-tracking service to connect a click with a later sale, and an attribution cookie set by an affiliate network. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time and the articles on this site will still work normally. Blocking an affiliate cookie does not change your price; it simply means we are not credited. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
How Long We Keep Things
Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes and then discarded. We hold no reader database beyond that.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access personal data a company holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict processing, and to receive it in a portable format. In our case those rights have very little to bite on: we hold no account, no email address, no mailing list and no profile for you. The records connected to your visit are an automatic server log and click-tracking data, neither of which is indexed by your name or email. If you clicked through to a seller and want to know what they hold, that request goes to them.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do not hold the kind of sensitive personal data that would make this site a worthwhile target.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
